    Liverpool Bushcraft Anyone?

Just though I'd pop out of the wood work and say hi. I'm living in Liverpool city center, currently finishing up my 3rd year at uni. Been into bushcraft for while but never met with any other bushcrafters but would be keen to learn and share skills other like minded people.

    what foodstuffs do you carry?

All depends on where I'm camping. On the hills and some of the higher wooded areas are peat soil and I tend not to have a fire and just use my trangia. If i have a fire I bring a couple of baked potatoes, carrots, bread mix, thick cut of meat and make a night of it. but if i'm just using meths I...

Jack London's To Build A Fire

Just came across this on youtube. Some people may have already read some other of the Jack london stories but for those who prefer films this is a very good production narrated by Orson Wells. The story highlights the importance of fire in cold weather among other things...

    Do you carry a FAK?

A variety of plasters, gloves, micropore, mepore and salt is all I carry at the most and the plasters and salt do get used but I've never needed anything more. The tweezers and scissors on my SAK for the fiddly bits.

best shot ever with a catty!!

Great shot, a really good way to practice shooting the birds out of the trees :) The best shot I ever did was on the first day i got a slingshot. It was a gamekeeper pocket rocket 2 with 9.5mm steel and there was a sign post at the bottom of a field at least 100 meters away. I just raised the...

    First Spoon and Stool

i've done some very basic whittling before so the spoon didn't feel to ambitious at the time although my hand was dead after 5 minuets haha. I used kiru sumi tattoo ink with water to stain my spoon knife. it's a very strong pigment and has held well on other projects regardless of dirt or wear.
