    Drying food

So thanks to this thread I've now bought a dehydrator, thanks... I think I've considered buying one for ages but went on ebay last night and there was one going cheap round the corner so I'm now sorted with one (but it's a little bigger than I expected...!_

    Gloves for around Camp

I use a pair of full leather gloves from the gardening section of B&Q/homebase. They're lined with fleece/light felt No problem grabbing hot pots/pans or even moving hot wood. They've survived years of abuse and the fingertips are looking quite black and dirty now. But they're great and make...

small folding knives what are my options

Are you after something locking or a slipjoint? I've been using an EKA Swede 88 Masur for food prep etc when out and about. It has a thin blade which makes it excellent for food prep, takes a very keen edge and feels lovely in the hand. Comes with a nice little leather pouch for your belt too

Show and tell! Cycle touring setup

I haven't really been what I'd call 'bushcrafting', which was basecamping in the woods and messing around with toys and projects, for many years. I got more into walking/wildcamping and then bikepacking, which has been a serious bug for the last few years (although I'm enjoying playing in the...

The pack you described is pretty much bang on the Golite Jam, which is an excellent pack Coup, the guy that started Golite, started a new business when Golite went bust and bought the patents. The new company is called My Trail Co and most of the products are former Golite products This is the...

    Cheap Merino ?

The Angora stuff is going cheap because they stopped selling it so are clearing stock. They realised they were being harvested in a particularly un-animal-friendly way One of the guys working there commented to that effect on a MTB forum

    Pole tips

Worst comes to worst sugru will help I often use my poles with the rubber tips as it stops the tip sinking into the ground when it's soft

    Aero roof bars worth it?

I had the problem on my first roof box, I just drilled extra holes in the right place. The U bolts are use a metal plate to brace the wing nuts (or similar) against so the actual hole doesn't really matter

    Aero roof bars worth it?

T track allows a single bolt to be used for a fixing the wide U bars fit fine, it's also easy to fit to a roof box, you can drill holes easily in it the holes don't fit i have Thule Wingbars and both roof boxes I've used have been fine

    Individual wet wipes/baby wipes

We picked up a load from a chinese restaurant and I've popped them in various useful places as a back up for when I run out of baby wipes They're sometimes microwaved by restaurants for the hot towel effect They're individually wrapped white packets, about five inches by 1 inch. Something like...

How can I attach a wire rope to my cooking tin please?

That was my thinking. I'm presuming that its not adjustable, which means that its a tightish fit, rather than a very snug fit? Still a good idea, might have to bodge one like that as another possible option My two current versions both involve picture wire with a steel mini crab on either end...
