I hear there's a wood somewhere on the Wilts n Somerset border with loads of things that need chopping up / down that you could make a natural shelter out of Tim ;-)

great to see the enthusiasm being shown, should make a for a good pub meet!
so as for floor or hammock, never tried hammock but i too have a canvas bell tent (sadly no stove yet!) but as a life long camper also have a 2 man vango tunnel, a single skin el cheapo lavvu and a 16 man, 3 bedroomed, 16m2 fully inner tented living area, takes 3 people over an hour to put up, supertent! lol sadly with a footprint of 49m2 its never been used in a wooded area
recently started under a tarp with bivvy and although have played at building natural shelters for decades (that my wife calls "kids dens" the cheek! lol), only got to use one "in anger" during the end of January when i lived in a branch and leaf-litter northern lean-to shelter for 5 days of survival school with rain, hail, snow and -7c temps
i survived (and enjoyed)

I live out towards Yeovil way from Glasto so not Frome direction.
Could just take a tent and pitch it on the church green or a night trek and set up camp on the TOR! lol

I spect I'll be off home after as I'm working saturday morning. Whats the dress code? olive drab or urban camo?
The brook house is only 10 mins from my house... never been in there but drive past it alot!
After the first pub meet i think the next time we stay anywhere should be in a wood!
The alcohol is usually cheaper as well and you know your not gonna get weird looks, well apart from the woodland creatures!
