"Glamping" is taking more kit than I do.
"Roughing it" is taking less kit than I do.
A definition that anyone can use.
I have seen Uncle Ray "Glamping" (200+ cooking pots, tartlet cases, metal tongs, Gurkas to dig his Haangi pit and harvest the Burdock) but then it is known as "Bushcraft"... coz he was kipping under a camo tarp

To me, it's been the difference between grovelling around on my hands and knees in a pup tent
and a stand-up, walk-around serious tent with a cot, a lamp and a chair.

I'm sure the Bushmoot Glamping Police will be on hand to ensure anyone straying from the path of Bushcraft righteousness is left in no doubt of their heinous crime.
Penalties for serial offenders such as Wayland will i‎nclude the impounding of all inappropriate kit and banishment to a mosquito-‎infested pitch close to the site boundary.
Angst will be Head Inquisitor and specialise in ‎punishment details for all poorly controlled children and their wayward parents.
And don't even think of lighting a hand-crafted incense ‎candle or making your girlfriend squeal after dusk!

Great thread, interesting to read about different peoples takes on glamping/camping/wild camping/bushcrafting or whatever you wish to call it.
Glamping is camping but with added luxury. Usually it involves me playing a game of tetris with all the boxes and bags that need to fit into the car!
Personally, I think it's about enjoying the outdoors and removing ones self from the rigours of modern life. This includes technology in pretty much all its forms. I think that most people who don't enjoy camping do not realise how relaxing life can be for that period of time when you're not staring at a telly, a computer screen or swiping a smartphone to refresh a social media feed. It's about enjoying the simple things in life.
I enjoy going wild-camping either on my own or with a small group of mates, it's fun, it's relaxing and my wife and I both agree that it's also nice for us to enjoy having some time to ourselves. My wife comes camping and she absolutely loves it just as much as I do. But this I think is when I make the transition to glamping as my wife will only camp on a site where there are clean toilets and showers. We'll take a 5 man tent and sleep on a super comfy inflatable bed with bedding and set-up a basic kitchen area within the 'living room' of the tent. We avoid the caravan and camping club sites at all costs and prefer to go to independantly run campsites that let you have fires. This is because we both enjoy doing some proper camp fire cooking with our dutch ovens and I'm quite proud to say that we've cooked up some amazing treats in our dutchy. During the day my wife will usually get stuck into a good book and I'll usually have some kind of whittling project on the go. We'll go for walks, sit and relax and spend hours talking about all sorts. For us it's an affordable way to enjoy a decent holiday where we can spend quality time together and take a break from working life.
I often jest that I have several holiday homes stored up in my loft!
As for bushcraft, it's neither camping/glamping/wild camping or even a haven for people to spend fortunes on wonderful camping products and tools. Its a knowledge of the wilderness that one acrues over a lifetime. Just my opinion!!!

breakfast time cerial with ice cold milk from the fridge & fresh ground coffee

camp kitchen (prepairing the vegies) for lunch
Lunch time Trangia Mince n taties (with real taties)
evening meal Trangia Mince noodles n beans for the kids made from leftover mince
& Trangia mince & peppery beans for Mum & Dad also made from leftover mince
early evening more irish coffee
later in the evening Mum & Dad's nice comfy bed made up, 3 kids in bed (in their own seperate rooms) more irish coffee (strong on the irish with just a dash of coffee) to round off the day....

Nah - it ain't "Glamping" if you have to do your own cooking (I get my man Steve to do that for me at the Moot...propper Glamping that is )

If I had a man steve I'd get him to take the wife & kids while I went off on me own camping, the only reason I go along is cos I get to do all the cooking thats the best part.... Makes all the rest of it bearable after a few beers/coffees that is ....
