Spent a fantastic 10 days exploring the lakes of Vattlefjall. we took a cab from the airport in Gothenburg directly to the canoe hire centre, about 45 km away. The staff at Kanotpool could not have been more friendly and helpful, and as it was tipping down, advised us of the closest shelter. We had a good mixture of weather, from heavy rain and thunder storms to bright hot sunshine. What a beautifull place to explore, crystal clear sweet waters that could be drunk, fantastic scenery, and close enough to civilisation to make rookie canoeists feel comfortable.

Looks great! Was it very busy in that area, did you feel like you were out in the wilderness, any sharing of the shelters with other parties? How were the mosquitos?
Would be interested to know what the canoe hire cost if you don't mind sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks. The area was not busy at all, as the trip ended just as the school holidays started. We did see other people on the lakes, but they all kept there distance, so much of the time it felt like we had the place to ourselves.
The mozzies and midges were not too much of a problem, although I did get several bites. Word of advice, buy your repellent over there, as the stuff I brought with me was useless.
Cost wise, we bought our tickets on Norwegian Air last year, £100 return each, Taxis, canoe hire, food and drink £200 each. There were supposed to be 4 of us but one dropped out. which would have made it around £260 per person.
Hope this helps.

If you plan to do anothe canoeing trip to Sweden, and you feel ready for a more wild nature, consider to paddle downstream the Dalälven.
On a map it is the large river ending south of Gävle north of Stockholm.

It looks like you had a pleasant trip!

Thanks for the further info. Sounds like very good value to me.
