We had a bit of a problem with "Basecamp One" - a tree overhanging it was rotting through and threatening to fall and crush us in any kind of wind.
Luckily Roly is a dab hand with a chain saw and owns one too so this weekend was planned (and perm saught from the landowner) for dropping the tree.
Suart and I got there on Thurs - me in the morning and Stuart in the PM and I had relocated the fireplace and communal tarp as well as dropping a smaller leaning tree that threatened my temp pitch using just bowsaw and axe. Stuart had a new shelter
Roly joined us on the Friday and started sawing at 9am ... we had finished the work by 10.30 and so we enjoyed the sun ...followed by rain and gales (we are in Wales) for the rest of the weekend. I trans-located my set up back to my usual pitch which is now superbly sheltered by a dead-hedge. The new set up for the communal area features new pine furniture...
