I was born to parents with split beliefs;

Mother "make do and mend"
Father "buy the best you can afford"

Most of my bushcraft kit has been influenced by my father and therefore I am guilty of being someone with 'all the gear no idea'...(not quite - my knife was £10).

I'm getting my kit together for a trip next week and I'm missing one major component - coffee...good coffee.

I love drinking coffee; there is nothing that quite beats this morning ritual when camping. So, I've been avidly reading up on the best camping coffees from Cowboy to Aerobie and naturally my attention is drawn towards gadgets - cafetieres, mokas, socks, distillation and finally the portable espresso maker. Man they look cool.

I can't afford to spend anymore on kit.

So you can imagine my delight when I found than an old Bodum cafetière lurking at the back of a cupboard fits perfectly into the Tatonka Mug.

It's not the best coffee by no means, but it's better than instant.

My mother will be proud.

I cut down the plunger to size.

(It goes without saying I'm not endorsed by either Tatonka or Bodum...sadly).
(wasn't sure whether this should be under DIY/Cooking/Kit)
