I should be there on Friday too. Bringing a load of logs as I expect there's little about, nothing dry anyway. I've injured my wrist so might not be of much help with stuff when I'm there but it might have recovered by then.

(Oops, forgot that was my 5,000th post, was meant to be saving it for a competition!)

Sweet, Im sure we'd only need enough logs to have a fire that would dry out any damp wood, either way I'll bring some fat wood to help get it going!

for the friday-ers, going to the butchers on thursday, does anyone want anything? very tempted to get myself a steak for the first night......or some pork.......

Also going fishing on thursday, some cod about, if I can catch a few then people are welcome to some fillets to save dosh on food!

As for the wrist, please do just let me know if you need a hand with anything, Im pretty much rubbish at everything but would be more than happy to assist! dependant on where about in sussex you are I could also visit you earlier on and help load your logs? offer is there if needed any who!

Very kind but I managed to load them into the trailer this morning. Lifting isn't so much of a problem but I can't grip things very well. Must remember to go shopping myself too - I'm always jealous of the meatfest on offer. There's a good butcher in Forest Row not far away in case you forget.

Pumpkin carving, great idea. Bring your own carving tools, and a pumpkin.
I'll supply a prize for the pumpkin with the most votes.
No carving allowed until on site.

N2 is correct.
Rangers car park is best.

Also a reminder that there is no tap on site, bring water in with you or be prepared for a trek to find it.

It would also be appreciated if you could have the correct money available to pay your site fees.

Is the special prize another pumpkin ?

There is a blue dot marking a water pipe on the site map at N2 - guess it is out of commission then...

I always pack 2 litres for an overnighter, but thought there would be taps.....oh well I don't mind a trek!

Pumpkin carving.......I read this AFTER going to the supermarket lol! bit messy for me, to be done with my niece mostly c:

As for the fire lighting lesson box, very kind offer of you sir but I think we'd struggle to find dry tinders around this time of year, hence my bringing of fat wood c:

Having said that Im pretty much covered for fires in most eventualities as I've become obsessed with "smart tinder"

Basically

Just Twine - catches a spark easily, can bind other tinders and is strong cordage.
Fatwood - Waterproof, and dependant on the amount you take you have tinder, kindling, and enough wood for a cuppa.
storm proof british light boat matches - Because if its chucking it down Im not gonna f*ck around with dried fungus.

I'm also bringing my fishing stove, incase I want a cup of tea and the fire is out and Im the only one up so no need for one (bit nocturnal I talk to the owls)

I've made some high calorie walnut and chocolate shortbread for people as well, and bringing a packet of shortbread as didn't have time to make it.

Ye shall not go hungry with me :lmao:

I should be there around mid day or just before, depends on when I get the chance to leave, as a reminder because currency displays weirdo n my computer, how much do I owe for 2 nights ?
