I think I have another one the same size as the one I left last month. How did the setup perform, because when I left it was warmer as the wind was not an issue but it was very smokey.

Hi All,

Looking forward to the Chrimbo do and having a great time!

However, I'd like to try 'hanging' and would be grateful for the loan of a hammock and associated paraphernalia for hanging it.

I will still have tent etc. for ground dwell and if all goes well I can then get my 'Santa list' drawn up and sent up the chimney!

If you can help all offers will be appreciated.

Many thanks

Kevin

And it remained that way. I think we should separate the the two tarps just above the fire, so as to allow the smoke to escape directly over the fire.

Well Bag packed, just food to put in for next week, all ready for the weekend.
Fingers crossed no work comes up between now and Thursday.
:christmas2:

Nice one mate. Other than the shed, I've got nothing ready. I'm going to be very busy Thursday evening.

Just checked the met office website, it looks like it will be cloudy, varying between 6* & 0* at night, at least the cloud will keep the frost away.

Yep, saw the same sort of numbers - a couple of channels are showing a dip below freezing, particularly on Friday night. Under quilt will get it's first winter testing!

Just a quick question...
Looks like Amy & I will be arriving about 6pm on Friday now.
As I walked in last time and we'll be coming in by car, what's the best place to meet up?
I don't want to come blundering onto the farm property with the car, though I do remember the way from the road so if we have a designated space I should be fine from there.

Should be good fun setting up in the dark!

Just got an email from Phil :)..

"Everything is in order here, and it’s great to hear you’ve got a large turnout. I understand you will cook your turkey on Sat lunchtime, therefore I will get it out Thurs evening, and when thawed keep it in my fridge at home. The drumsticks and wings I will get out on Friday, you can have as many as you like, so how many of each?"

So all sorted.. :)

How many Turkey drumsticks and wings should I ask for?, I was thinking couple of Drumsticks as turkey legs are, (well the one in tescos are), lol quite big and 10 ish wings..?..

I'll repack my rucksack tonight. At present much of my gear is in the "baby Bergen" because I've been doing night hikes and carving Christmas gifts for friends (giving each of them a custom spoon) in front of a small camp fire until the wee hours of the morning.

Won't take long to repack though :)

Will be picking up the fresh ingredients tomorrow to bring with... and also tomorrow evening I'll be packing the car (it's going to be a tight squeeze with all the extra stuff I have to bring this time around but I've had most of the gear in there before so it should work out)

Well have finally got the all clear for the weekend, good job I packed last weekend, as tomorrow I have a job in Brentwood then into London to work in the evening, but it does mean I have the whole weekend off so worth it. :)

I can bring with me two trestle tables if you think they will be needed?
