It's still my intention to arrive Friday, but will be late afternoon if I'm still awake by then.
If not I'll be along Saturday morning/lunchtime - someone save me a couple of trees in the snoring corner :)

@John Fenna - are there any pics / specs on the knife yet?

It is going to be one of Bernies Bushcraft knives - engraved with "Welsh Meet 6/11/08"
Check out his website www.berax.co.uk - supurb knives, well worth selling your children for!:D

I'm in negotiations with my wife at the minute. She can't seem to understand the reason I need another knife is the same as she needs more than one pair of shoes. As far as I can see the reasons and arguments for and against are the same for both of us.
I've got a bit put by ,I just need her to put up the difference.

Just to clarify... is it a raffle or an auction now ?

I can't have anything I just want. I have to show that i need it,which is where the shoe defense normally works.

To hopefully get the max number of folk bidding - it will be an auction, with "book bids" for those regulars who cannot get to the meet.

    Hi guys,
I'd like to join you this weekend if that's ok? Sounds like it'll be fun!
My last meet was a very cold and muddy weekend at Glyn Y Mul in February..... I also missed the Summer Moot but had a pretty good excuse - Got to spend 10 weeks in Canada hiking, paddling and camping. Am suffering cabin fever now and need to escape. Promise not to bore you too much with tales of wildlife encounters and such like!!
    Take it easy,
    Dave N.

Stewart - I'll give you a ring about the "joined up" cooking...have plenty of time on my hands to do some shopping!

    Cheers guys!

    I'll bring my running shoes.
"I don't have to outrun the bear, just run faster than you!!"

It will be good to camp without having to cache the food up a tree or worry about becoming bear dinner...

    CU soon,
    Dave.
