wood wood wood

as i dont have any woodland, nor am i friendly with any tree surgeons (not any that are not stoned for long enough to actually get any work! lol) im gonna have to buy a couple of bags of logs

im wanting a small fire at my bivvy and will need to cook a little on this (as well as make brews) as well as bung in a contribution to the group fire

what would be reasonable for the group fire contribution? a bag? 2?

just trying to work out what i need, as well as logistics of the carry in, with water as well

as for the lamb, weve hit the magic dozen mark (assuming BW isnt in labour), seems a whole lamb could be consumed :)

so if the offer to sort that is still good as well as a bit of butchery skills sharing.. im a happy chappy

and like been said, will chip in.. as well as bring a smidgen of naughty tequila :p

Yeah a couple of bags of logs should be fine...
There will be some wood up there to go on the group fire but i can't have us clearing the wood as the committee who manage the woods like to keep some downed trees for 'wildlife'....
Before you ask no we can not pass as wildlife!

Lamb is sorted (theoretically) i don't know if it will come whole or segmented but i expect there will be some butchering involved.

the carry in should be fine as you can offload all your kit at the woods and then go and park the car and walk to the woods.

Hi Jay
If some of the guys dont have ready access to fire wood I normaly pay my wood man 50 quid for a cubic metre.I have a trailer and could get a load of ash for everybody.
If ye all want me to

Can't we have it whole with the skin on... (dead would be good) But it would be good to skin and butcher it.

doubtfull. it will have been thru a slaughter house and they will have taken it all out and off

you should be able to get a whole one tho if you ask as the spit roast guys do these (Down.. Ben :lmao: )

Oh lamb shoulder slow roasted in a Dutch oven is very nice ;)

im happy to chip in (pun intended) on the wood.

jay, im not sure its a good idea to put the google map up, maybe pm the link? as its a public forum, might get others thinking they can just pitch up any old time and camp. would be a shame to have the good will thats extended to you stuffed up by others

just a thought?

Are there those types of people on the forum?.....
maybe not on this forum as members, but google indexes every single word written on the interweb :(

so less nice people could stumble across the link thats pointing out this place to go (words chosen carefully so as to avoid googles spiders doing exactly what im cautioning against)
