Somerset Bushcraft WKND Meet 26-28 March

Weekend of May;
8th - 9th no - my wedding anniversary (15 years if you want to buy us presents)

15th - 16th no - already out and about camping and fishing with my son, my bud and his nephew

22rd - 24th yes or at least a strong possibility.

from then on, im probably off the grid til the autumn

29th may til 5th june - family holiday

12/13 june - manly home fixing/decorating stuff (have to change my sons bedroom from a primary school representation of the solar system, into something more befitting a nearly teen)

19 - 30th june - glastonbury

july - not sure yet but know my wife has plans for my time

august - school holidays including 2 weeks family holidays. wife will remove my ability to recieve a Re-Churound if i slink off to the woods then (unless we do something to include kids and i bring my son)

but in the famous words of a mediocre pop punk band from the US of A...... when september comes, things should free up again

i was once offered a re-charound by my grandmother, however after such an experience fuel'd by vodka and sherbert lemons i swore never to use such a tool again, no matter how desparate.

i can do pretty much any time apart from the rest of easter and the 27th of april as thats when i have finaly booked my driving test for.

buy your lecturer a Re-Churond or even invite them round for a spit roast.. im sure you'll cruise your dissertation then

if you are out of circulation for a while... then good luck with your degree finals, itll be worth it, education is worth its wait in gold, even if you dont make use of your skills today, its always there to fall back on

The 8th and 9th are best for me as I have some hol booked at the end of may and wont be able to take the wked off before that.Thats the problem with retail

Thanks Jon. I hope to attend if only for a few hours one evening depending on when it is and how far I'm along with work. I plan to get as many dissatations out the way over easter as I can.

i dont have a degree (yet) ive got 120 points at level 1, 120 at level 2 and 60 at level 3. so just need another 60 at l3 for my BA hons and a further 120 at l4 for masters.

though, when you get post 40 (years not level) other quals along with (provable) experience stand you in just as good a place

BUT, need degrees when you are starting out on a career now, sooo much competition for too few jobs, so you need to stand out

I need to correct myself, Open Uni which i assume is what you have worked at , I have ALOT of time for. I wish our education system was based more on the States system.

I just think attitude is more important then paperwork aptitude, or at least that what has come through from some of the guys I have interviewed and employed.

Anyway , sounds like a discussion for another later-nighter.

not open uni. In nursing especially, but also some other health/social care professions, you can do a credits system. my diploma was done full time over 3 years giving me 120 credits at L1 and 2. then when i did my independant prescribers study i got a further 30 in pharmacology (L3) and 30 (L3) in prescribing practice. the course was at L4 (masters) and although i passed the various assessments at L4 grade, cause i dont yet have the fiull 120 at L3, the credits only count at L3

of course, as im a nursey, all my study has to be done in addition to my full time job, so no "full time courses" which actually means circa 14 hrs per week in school! lol
