:)how do I get the smilies where I want when I edit a post?
Even if I start the process with the prompt where I want the smilie to be, it jumps automatically to the beginning.
    Ipad user.

    Tried again here.
    :)

    Now I know!

I used to have a similar problem when opening the smilie box the cursor would jump to the beginning of the text, once you have the smilie box open can you click at the end of your post before inserting the smilie, not an Ipad user so can't test it :)

Actually Janne, the easiest way to pop a smiling face after a statement (so everyone knows your joking :) ) is to type a colon followed by a right bracket, that gets converted to a smiling face. So : + ) together = :) and a semi colon will give you a winking smiling face ;)

Alternatively, host your own smilies and use the image function. [IMG]

Ha ha ha, I just had to link that one :)

As for making them I take that it's probably fairly easy with Photoshop

It took my a while to work out how to animate them properly but otherwise it's pretty straight forward.

The challenge is creating an image with so few pixels.
