Great stuff fella. The wood looks really nice and I'm sure it'll perform well for you.

Cheers guys, never thought I'd get a comment from the bladesmith and so many great craftsmen, hope I can live up to it.

Next I think my SAK needs new scales and I could do with a whittler. Got enough of that wood left to do them, could be a nice set.

Well the SAK is already a work in progress, just not had time to get any further than taking the nasty plastic bits off. Bit more complex as well as I've got a ships emblem to get back on it. And before Hugo says anything, yes the tweasers and tooth pick are going back on. Might get a little locker knife to really complete the set.

Omg, I've got the bug. Simon H, you were right, I've got it bad.

Lost in the woods
You beat me to it Jack mate, when putting on new scales remember to sand down the steel so as to get a good adhesion with the new wooden scales. I found it easier to apply some adhesive to the scales first, not too much, then offer them up to the knife, then take them away to see what amount of adhesive has been applied to the knife, you might want to apply just a bit more to the scales then fix and clamp.
Doing it this way saves having lots of glue going everywhere, and I do mean everywhere on the knife, it would be a pain to clean up.

Happy holidays mate.

Phew, had a very worrying moment coming through Canadian customs. I was handed a customs form on the flight which said you needed to declare any knives or tools. Then spent 10+ hours worrying they were going to take it off me.

But gawd bless'um straight through and only asked if it was a straight edge or not. Then had to hand the from to an armed guard after picking up my bags who looked at me as if to say, "that's not a knife...".
