Just booked myself on this course being run at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, can't wait The synopsis is "Working out of doors in the Museums grounds, you will use the methods of ancient British people to produce your own hafted tool to take home. Techniques used include flint knapping, cordage manufacture from natural figures and working with bone and antler." And the tutors are John and Val Lord http://www.wealddown.co.uk/Traditional-Rural-Trades-and-Crafts/Prehistoric-tool-making-Saturday-Sunday-2-3-August-2014
Is that the John Lord who featured on the Ray Mears Bushcraft series? Knapping is something I'd seriously love to have a go at, very jealous I can't go. Has to go on to the to do list. Please let us know how you get on.
