I have a surplus of cones.

I have been making fire lighters and coloured flames with them.

Now I’m after some ideas what I can make craft with the ones I have remaining.

I have 200 plus tiny cones and loads of average size.

Ideally a project or two I can do with some Autistic children I’m working with.

Filled with suet/seed mixture they make good bird feeders.

I've seen quite impressive sculptures made by gluing the individual scales onto a former - imagine a bird sculpture, for example, where the different sized scales are used as feathers.

I think that breaking off the cone scales to be used in gluing projects would be good.
Depending on their functioning level, these autistic kids might not be too co-operative with anything more complicated.

Wax crayon art work on paper and cone scales added?
Wrap paper around plastic jars and decorate?

2nd the xmas tree ornament suggestion. A bit of jazzy metallic paint and/or glitter glue, loop of fishing line and they turn out pretty nice (better than all the trash my kids clagged together at school which never survives a year in the loft!)
