I had a bit of a burn going.
I found I had to extend put two straight flue sections out of the tent, and then put the elbow on. At a lesser angle for it to draw well.
Yep, Im sorted now Cliff. Talking to Greger earlier I might look at costs of freighting my snowshoes over to Sweden if it works out cheaper than taking them on the plane.

I have a Helsport varanger 4-6 with the inner, floor, heater rack but propose on taking the outer only ?
I ( almost ) have a Ti Goat large woodburner with flue etc
I ( foolishly ? ) would like to take a hammock and accessories as well, just to say, on one night at least, that I'd swung from the trees.

I have a Canadian forces arctic sleep system, it comprise of 2 nesting down bags, a wool inner and a down hood, rated at down to -50 ? I've never used it to less than -5 in the UK, this is an untested worry ?
I'll be taking an army issue bivvy bag

Headwear Trapper hat, balaclava and possum / wool beanie

Feet Swedish army arctic socks / British army arctic socks
Outer shell Probably Swedish army smock and trousers ?
Mid layers of wool ( Twodogs light ) surplus wool trousers with braces
Base layers some form of merino wool tops trousers and socks
Cooking
14cm Zebra billy, frying pan, folding cup, kfs..........
List is still growing ( must sit down and get a full proposed list sorted to include transportation method. bags etc

I'd consider having two sets of clothes - one for work/moving about (which will get a bit sweaty, but not really a problem as the body produce excess heat) and one for more stationary activities. Or simply avoid sweating. The working set will be nasty putting back on, but you'll soon get warm moving about
Hammock...I concider it to be dead weight (having never embraced the swinging lifestyle myself)

Hi Greger, yes I see what your saying and am planning around that, also, I love my hammock lol and it would be awesome to hang for a night but it depends on pack size etc, which to be fair, wouldn't increase bythat much.

The most recent one I have... at least where I am somewhat recognisable.
I am struggling with the tent-thing. Since I do not know how many will follow along I do not know what to plan for yet. I hope for 4+2, but the tent I am eyeballing right now weighs a whopping 40kg and has room for 8-12! It does have a stove. However the dogs should be able to pull that one.
And right after I posted this, a sales ad showed up; selling a tent like this for a good price.

Nope, that's a patrulltält 8; an 8 person tent.
Mine's a bit bigger and has a woodstove.
There'd be room enough for everyone attending so far.

Do you 'need' to take something that big, more than welcome to bunk down in mine if it will help out weight wise, not that I have a clue lol

Well, the choice was sort of dictated by some requirements I had:
1) it had to have enough room for the group I'd probably/hopefully be taking along; 4 adults (well, 1 almost), 2 large dogs and all the stuff + a stove.
2) it had to be sturdy and durable (dogproof mainly)
3) it has to be useable for other purposes too, like familytrips.
4) it had to be cheap or at least affordable.
Ah I see, how do you make the stove dog friendly, a fire guard of some sort ? or are they savvy enough to know.

You have a lot of gear going on this trip and everyone seems to be running his own stove thats a hell of a lot of wood , I know we all like are own space but in the cold team works king one large wood burner is a lot easier to manage as a team..
Plus the safety of living together if anyone has any cold related problems ..
Please be honest with each other about any medical problems and treatment if needed ..
To my shame i own the Norwegian eight man tent and the canvas of the Swedish 20 man ,,,both are so well made

You have a lot of gear going on this trip and everyone seems to be running his own stove thats a hell of a lot of wood , I know we all like are own space but in the cold team works king one large wood burner is a lot easier to manage as a team..
Plus the safety of living together if anyone has any cold related problems ..
Please be honest with each other about any medical problems and treatment if needed ..
To my shame i own the Norwegian eight man tent and the canvas of the Swedish 20 man ,,,both are so well made

They do not go near the livingroom fireplace, when it is burning, but it will require some additional training for sure!

Constructive criticism or advice is never wrong in my eyes. You have a good deal of valid points, so thanks!
Of course more people are welcome to share our tent, if they do not mind the dogs. Would be kind of cool to hang out and tell stories, if the weather turns bad. An issue might be different agendas or planning, but that can be sorted out too!
Yep, as you say TD, safety in numbers, plus fire watch of a night to keep the fire going, if it's wanted, I don't mind sharing, either somebody with me or vise versa, still early days in the planning
