Depending on where the campsite ends up, there may also be lambs temptingly within smellshot.

A chance to do some stock-proofing from a distance! They haven't met lambs yet.... they're good with horses and cows, the elder one is okay with sheep but sheep are rarely ok with dogs...The joys of raising puppies.

Thanks for the warning. :)

Sorted - that's the theme for this meet: stock fence. If we end up to the left of the stepping stones, there's a fallen tree that'll form a nice starter wall. Or, if the weather doesn't settle, a windbreak.

It'll have to be a very good stock fence to stop a whippet who can jump 6 feet high with no problem! :)
I was relying on teaching the dogs that sheep and lambs are not lawful prey, it seems like less hard labour somehow.

Windbreak sounds good though.:D

Hi Craig Jezza here (friend of Scrumps and Susan). I am looking forward to meeting you guys next weekend. I am coming along with Scrumps and Susan on Friday and staying until Sunday. I have been busy with work and life and I have missed all the chat about food and communal meals. I am happy to bring any food you need or I could just bring what I think is right. Can you give me any ideas? Also, is there a water source near by or do we have to bring it with us?

When you get to Den woods our camp will be just a short walk down the path at the RED arrow on this pic

There is a small burn in the wood that can be used for water but it will need to be boiled before drinking as it is fed from field drains.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend :)

Yep the junction has a sign " Balgove" pointing right. Keep following the track all the way. You will pass a few farms and houses just keep following the road untill you come to the woods on your left.

We have the kind permission from the farmer near by to use his farm to park a few cars. So dont worry if there are no spaces in the lay by bit.

Also if you arrive and theres nobody at the car park just go through the gate and follow keep following the trail path for a minute or two and you will come across our site. The chute will be up so you cant miss it.

If anybody needs further directions let me know Today and I will get it sorted asap.
