Whilst watching the latest Basic Bushcraft & Survival Skills DVD (Volume 6), Peter Gawleta uses & recommends the following bit of kit - which he has used to contain a basic set of fishing tackle & keeps with his hobo fishing kit.
It is basically a small cylinder (approx 38mm long x 12mm diameter) machined from aluminium, with a rubber o-ring to waterproof.

I have located the supplier of these, based in Canada, and have contacted them regarding a bulk discount & postage to the UK.
