After seeing Wayland with his I have been on the look out for one, but did not want to fork out much, so I will see you right with some home brew this weekend.:D

Anyone got any specific plans for the weekend?

Chill out in good company, eat well and have a wee dram or two in the dark hours!

I can bring my fire lighting stuff if anyone wants a go with flint / striker & char cloth & chemical fire lighting etc.Never done fire by friction but would be keen to learn if someone wants to show me.

Simon, I'll show you what I know of bow drills if you bring your char cloth set up (I took a pair of jeans and a syrup tin to Llangollen but didn't get chance to use them so left them for the rest of the group :( ).

I also fancy a go at the floating hand drill - how come no one knew about that technique until last week (or is it just me?)?

Well, I've just been filtering, blending and decanting my home made elderberry vodka and "tropical fruit mix" vodka.

Having tried some; think Asterix the Gauls reaction to drinking the wizard brews :puppy_dog  :yikes: :aargh4: :yuck: :censored:.

Watch out for my new avatar :)

I'll be coming down on Saturday morning so can we start the demo/tutorials from 1100hrs so that I and anyone else coming in the morning don't miss things?

Any kids going to this meet. I think Adam was lonely last time and may not come if there are no more ankle biters coming. Adam is 7, as some of you will know.:)
It's alot easier in summer as he can play in the woods for longer. When it goes dark I like to keep him close by and he gets bored after he's let his small fire die out for the 10th time:rolleyes:

Cheers

Yup - I'm bringing my 11 yr old. I'm also bringing my new Warbonnet Blackbird hammock for it's first outing...secretly, I'm quite excited.

Simon,

I've just (5 mins ago) bought a parachute (like you do) which should, Fed-ex allowing, be with me tomorrow. Can I borrow your ropes to sting it up for the weekend? Saves me getting some at short notice.
