I wouldn't bother with anything other than a Tramontina. Cheap and need a decent sheath (and sharpen) but they are great. Standard issue for clearing bramble etc where I work.
I really like my condor Warlock, Blade is 12.5 inches. 1075 steel, It's tough, and I use it for hardwoods, and battoning with when preparing for the wood stove. wouldn't be good for jungle trips due to it's thickness of blade in my opinion.

Several ypes of Tramontina machetes exist.
The most interrsting one is very front heavy, so a powerful cut.
I have two ‘standard’ styles.
The steel is of a low quality to be frank.
