Last I heard they'd found it and were observing it... presumably they don't want to tranquilize it

:lmao:

Is that how you kidnap old ladies then? Lure them into your van with loaves of bread? :lmao:

In all seriousness though, they are apparently trying to lure the lynx with raw meat... quite what they're going to do then is another matter.

It may come to nothing but would anyone be interested in assisting in the Search for the Lynx that has escaped from Dartmoor Zoo this Weekend ?

http://www.itv.com/news/2016-07-07/safety-warnings-issued-after-lynx-escapes-from-dartmoor-zoo/

Safety warning? I found it!!!

They're actually two cats in this photo on my front yard.

Just kidding! Crawling in kitty cats. Also bear which are eating the bird feeders and the street again. Naw it's just fine. Lots of small game for them and maybe a pet or two.

.....And please, define a 'good' zoo. What does that mean? If you lock up an animal that is used to roaming in acres of land and restrict it to 5 acres, is it a good zoo because its given 5 acres rather than a 20ft by 20ft cage?.....

I think the answer to that question is; 'better than one where they are in cages'.
I've been to such a 'zoo' in France. It had a wolf pack in an enclosure that was acres in extent. Signs informed visitors that the wolves would likely only be visible at feeding times .......

What mrcharly said. That would be almost every zoo still in operation here. Particularly good ones that I've actually been to would be the New Orleans Zoo, the San Antonio Zoo (th latter of those takes the better part of a day to see) The Gulf Breeze Zoo. Mnay other smaller ones I've seen and the biggest ones in the country that I have NOT personally seen such as the New York Zoo and the San Diego Zoo.

By the way, those tv shows that have been referenced as the preferred method of educating children or adults; care to guess just who funds those? That would be the larger zoos.

Update on the lynx (although its the news on my phone which always seems to lag behind for whatever reason)... they've setup humane traps with raw meat as bait... the lynx is taking the meat from the traps but isn't getting caught in the traps.

They've been using thermo-imaging and drones to follow it, but it looks like the lynx might be giving them the run around.
