This may seem a touch unusual but having been inspired by the magnificent "bone age" bowdrill set recently posted I would like to do the same thing.

I regularly do friction fire demos to beginners, whilst relating that technique to our early living skills, and I quite fancy a rib bone bow and maybe a kneecap (or some other suitable boney piece) bearing.

I could go to our local butcher and try to explain what I'm on about but if anyone here could help then it saves some explaining.

Obviously any costs/postage will be met by me.

Thanks folks.

a local abattoir might give you more options, we have a helpful local butcher but options are limited as they are just a small enterprise.

Try Fishfish. He was selling Bison? bone bow drills. I commented on using a cow bone and the upshot is that bison are much larger!

He might be able to help:)
