I run loads of old OS's and the stopping of support for XP does not even raise a thought with me.
Yes it MAY be more vulnerable in the future, but fixing security holes and patches, does not absolve the user from using common sense and having good AV and malware/firewall setups.
I am sure a lot of the 'hype' has been to scare people into rushing out and buying new machines(wonder how many people have?).
