All very impressive!

Have you considered making a lantern of some sort for your candles? With your skills I'm sure you could make something really nice, but short term even a hollowed out fodder beat would keep that flame sheltered. :)
Thanks for the idea - a variation on the "Coke Can Lantern" from stuff I had kicking around...

Can I ask.... why do people wear Boxers as underwear?
I have just spent an afternoon cutting a pattern (following a trades standard handbook for pattern cutting) using up the remains of some silk that I picked up in Thailand and sewing it into a very recognisable pair of Boxers...
Trying them on they fit fine and the fabric is luxury - but as far as support for the Family Jewels is concerned I might as well be wearing nothing at all!
As a life-long wearer of briefs, not boxers I just cannot adjust to the lack of support - so why does anyone bother with them?
Ah well - at least I have my DIY underwear sorted for the trip....
And yes the silk is green - well green on the warp and brown on the weft so the light plays interestingly with the colour....the last square yard is now a neckerchief so folk might get to admire the fabric!
I only realy wear underwear in the colder month , other than that o natural for me lol

I love you kit by the wY I have an 18th century woods and kit that I made my self , can’t beat using your own gear that you’ve made

And the DIY camp is done!
It all went very much to plan and I did not have to use any of the spare kit I took along :)
The only "Emergency" kit used was for a midnight dash to the loo trench when the need for speed outweighed the practicality of taking my candle stick to help me navigate through the brambles and trees...
The candle lantern was a great success - but as it gets quite hot in the case it gets through candles quite fast. I used no more candles over the weekend than fit in the lantern for traveling so that was OK.
The boxers did the job - but I still prefer my standard briefs as "Real" underwear!
I used one of my "Junkshop knives" and it performed brilliantly for general use and for carving an extra fork but the frying pan I made tends to let food stick to the pan surface - no teflon and not seasoned cast-iron!
My Iron Age shoes would not be first choice for full time wear but were more than good enough for a weekend in the woods.
It was not the most active weekend ever - cutting firewood and cooking were the major activities other than talking but I did get in a bit of axe throwing and a bit of whittling :)
All in all a great weekend and all the kit worked well (though I need a new saw blade and a new haft on my tomahawk - both are a bit "tired").
I did miss my coffee filter - the only bit of kit I do not want to try to make, putting up with "Cowboy Coffee is OK though!
The next trip will be using a usual mix of DIY and bought kit!
