Hi Guys
I have one of each at the moment but you can put me down for a new 2008 version, the finer mesh will keep out those pesky midgies. my excusse to SWMBO, will be "but darling, I purchased another one so that we can now go as a family and leave the tent behind" :D Oh and "Yes darling you can have the old one as your belated Christams present". Her reply will be ":yikes: :red: :nono: and of coures I will be :sad6: but hey I will still have my new DD to sleep in. Hmm wonder if it will fit in the dog house.

PS. this is the first purchase I have made, please PM me to let me know how I go about paying please.:)

Hi Pablo

Just watched the video, as usuall you covered all aspects, great to have it on as quickly thanks. with regards your comment on no closure system between the two layers, I presume it would be quite easy to sew a couple of bits of vercro in there to fix that issue?
I will have a look at doing this as soon as I receive my new 2008 model.
Thanks again.:)

I think that's what I'm going to do, but you only need to do it if you find your insulation slides out between the layers. My thermarest does probably because I wriggle about at night! :)

Try it out without it first. Your body weight might be enough to stop the thermarest or insulation sliding about.

Cheers,

Pablo.

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anybody was interested in getting doing a group buy from dd hammocks. You can get any hammok or other item that you want to i.e tarp or webbing/rope.
If not many want to go for this group buy, then it won't be worth it as the postage would push the price back up again. But if there is some interest then i hopfully should get some sort of resonerbly deal of them.
I just need to know what the interest is first.
I did a thread in kit chatter asking about them and got a lot of replys from people who have them already and most of them were very positive.
And if you want to look at the site it's at :-

www.ddhammocks.com

let me know if there is any interst.

ok guys.....good news we have 15 people and 18 items on the list now :)...
so andy it's not £8 saving anymore now it's a tenner.

also nick from dd has been looking at this thread.and would like to make everybody aware that ...i quote:-

regarding webbing stretching - thought I should let you know that from now on all our Travel Hammocks will come with 10m of new, stronger webbing attached (same as the new webbing Pablo shows in his video - although he used it for a ridge line as it was not already attached to his hammock. Something we only decided to do very recently).

ok guys:)

Nice vid pablo, looking forward to getting my 2008! Couple things I noticed, I sleep with my head the other way, why is that? I must be weird! :D Also I tend not to bother with doing the feet end of the netting, I only do the head end, anyone else?

I pimped my old travel hammock by getting some cord locks and shock cord from this guy not related, just satisfied customer blah blah. My tapes sagged a lot last time I was out and it puts a real stress on the netting but the newer tapes and shock cord should sort this out, n1 DDhammocks for listening to feedback!

Thanks Sandbag for organizing this GB! :You_Rock_

Cheers,

Alan

i'm just checking if there are any paypal charges (never done this before). there seems to be a recive limit $750 and this is going to go over that .if there are i'll ask some of you good people to send me a cheque.if you have no problem with that..
i'm trying to keep this as cheap as possible as you know, and would hate to get stung with some charge from paypal

well things are going along very quickly know ..and it would seem ashame to hang out this buy in a hope to try to get over 25 so i think the cut of date should be the end of january.if all payments are in everything sorted out you should be getting the hammocks and tarps in early february....mind you at the moment we have 16 people and 19 items on the list so far and at this rate we will have 25 (possibly).
ok guys what do you think:)
