Yup, sounds ok - though it might be an idea to set a threshold too, say 15 ppl, that way if it's sooner it's sooner as Ahjno said you might get a last minute rush ;)

two more customers...welcome:)
diamond dave, you would like a couple of which one's(i'd like to know as i'm making a list of them).
as beer monster just put down he is going away at the end of march.so i will check to see how long it takes to get them posted to all of us...i would hate it if someone didn't get their hammock when they needed or wanted it.
good idea andy about the threshold....but i think that an end date would be better...like i wrote earlier, the more people the better and if we get lucky we might get more than 25...plus i can keep putting in new threds each day saying how long we have left....like an advent calender marking down to christmas but without the sweeties in each slot:)....also it will keep the thread at the top of the pile of and not lost on pages 2..3..4...ect.ect...
and also it will give a date to get your piggy banks emptyed for and your money sent to me...and on that note if you have sent me money and we suddley go over 15 or 25 i will return any savings that we make...

as everybody else seems to put down.....i have no connection with DD Hammocks apart from this group buy.....and no matter what the press say i haven't given any pennys to labour party for question's in parlment or for the honers list :);)

Here's a question, the description of the 2008 Travel is that it's double zipped - does anyone know if this means a zip on each side of the hammock or does it mean that it has one zip for entry to the netted section and also a zip for access between the two fabric layers?

I'm very interested too. Still have to make up my mind though. What exactly is the diffirence between the camping and the travel hammock? just the finer netting in the travel hammock?

cheers!

Hi Geuf, check the DD Hammocks website in sandbags first post, basically; Camping = No net, Travel = With net. The Travel is more flexible, since you can flip it over and sleep in the net free side if you're camping in area without a midge/mosquito problem.

The camping hammock doesn't have netting at all mate.

I have been using the camping hammock for a few years now, I bought it back when they cost £15 on the bay of evil, I have been quite impressed with it. It is effectively a thai hammock and I loved my thai hammock to bits.

I agree that you really should hold out until you have at least 15 hammocks to order.

Add me to the list for a travel hammock please.

I've got a DD Hammock and nearly bought some extra webbing, but im not happy with how much it stretches, even after use, so I'll be looking for different webbing now I suppose.

Ash nearly all hammocks that use tape stretch quite a bit, an option to look at is getting static rope (like abseil rope) that has been prestretched, there is still a little give in it, but not very much.

The zip on the 2008 Travel hammock has two zips that meets in the middle of a single stretch of teeth (hope these are the right terms.) Each zip has two "handles" so that it can be opened on the outsde or inside. There is no closure mechanism between the two insulation layers.

The mossy net is much finer than the previous version and is a darker green. It has a number of loops (front and back) on the outside for different hanging configurations. There are also loops on the inside of the net at the same locations.

Elastic rope is supplied to hang the mossy net to a ridge line or seperate utility line and the set up comes with an additional 10m of new type of tape. This is similar to the old tape but appears more robust and less likely to stretch or fray (I've not tried it out though yet).

All in all it looks a great package.

I plan to test it and do an initial review this weekend and hope to do another video. I'll let you know when I've done it.

No connection with the company etc except that they sent me one as a thanks for doing the other set up vids.

Pablo.
