Day on Dartmoor

So up early-ish and off out for a look at some wild camping grounds.
half a mile into the walk and I spy a beauty




and one strange looking growth here.




and more strange here.



lots of hazel tree always a good sign.



this place seems to have it all.



wow this area looks great




Taking a rest by the water.



So trying out my new DD 3 x 4.5 tarp. great bit of kit its huge. had a quick brew then walked back to the car.



Can't wait to spend more time here with the hammock.

Nice, I love Dartmoor. The fungus looks like scarlet elf cap, one of the Sarcoscyphias. Generally considered to be inedible.

Looks like a great trip. I'm on Dartmoor in a couple of weekends doing a DofE training weekend - hope the weather is like that!
