Its really good to have a lurker , come out of the shadows and contribute to the thread , our little Dartmoor thing is not restricted in any way to existing members , or people that have been before etc etc .

So, jacko1066 ( Steve ) thanks for your comments , i understand of course Cambridge is a long way to come , when you don't know what you are letting yourself in for and don't know anyone , but as you can see we are a very friendly and lively bunch . True we may not take Bushcrafting too seriously , but we always have a great time .

Testament to the fact , that 2 newbies took the plunge for the last meet and enjoyed it so much they are coming again , to my mind thats exactly what it is all about .

Anyway , if ever there is a time that you feel the urge to , find time in your work schedule , and think sod it i will travel down for a nose , you , along with any other lurkers would always be more than welcome to come and try it out , its flexible enough that you can always come a few days early or leave a few days late , as i have control over the site annually . Anyway suffice to say one day " Come On Down "

FreddyFish ! My good man , great to have you back in the fold , as you quite rightly said , its been too long !

I really hope you can make it , as I for one am looking forward to a good old natter around the fire , good excuse for a couple of Buds !

Patrols , you sucker for punishment , so glad you had a good time , and have decided in your wisdom to return !
We are planning to do a few more activities this time .

Tea Bea , another to return to the madness of Dartmoor , great that not even the bee's are going to stop you coming , please let me know your travel plans , you know what i mean that hill ! so we can sort something out .

Ok ! This meet looks like its going to be a culinary delight , so as we don't end up with more food than we can shake a stick at , just a suggestion , that those intending to cook , actually cater for say 4 heads , that way we can all sample each others cooking !

Its NOT compulsory , but those who fancy a go , great , those who " can't cook won't cook " don't have to, so Chef Newman has started the ball rolling with his dhansak , anyone else has any ideas please post them , and see what we end up with !

We have plenty of time to compile a final list , and i think we could be in for a veritable woodland banquet , yummy !!

Also valid point by Adam , about the birch sap rising , about the second week in March , sometimes because we are so many feet above sea level , it can be later , but seeing as we have had such a mild winter , it could be on time .
I can always pop up and check , so for any interested in the elixir if life , that only comes but once a year , give me a shout .

I'm an ok cook on a stove with all the bits and pieces.... In the woods, on a camp fire, I'm limited to chilli and rice or stuff out a tin.

However, so I'm not completely dipping out, I'd like to bring and prep some campfire baked chocolate and marshmallow stuffed banananananas. Will bring enough for all, so what I lack in creativity I'll make up for in numbers ;)

Hope thats okies with all? :)

Where will it all end......spit roasted suckling pig turned by a donkey on a tread mill :)

Sounds good to me :) if the pig ain't enough, we have donkey as desserts. Have eaten horse but never donkey..... I expect it tastes like chicken.....

Hi Steve , welcome aboard, nice touch with the offer of a lift , and very interesting angle on your " stir fry of the woods " looks like we will have a lot of things to try at the dinner table ! Look forward to meeting you .

Jon , I don't think anyone wants to see my face on a book ! it's bad enough when rogue photos appear on here , still i am sure some other readers of this thread will know what you are talking about !

I have never tried " now't more " but if big Al has anything to do with it , past experiences tell us it will be very good .

That dam Badger ! digs trenches like he splits logs ! At least the one for Newman , was dug at at a leisurely pace , and only when he peered in was it easy to give him that shove , to rifle his gear , you want to see all of my new olive drab clothing , it's ace !
