Hey Glen, was chatting to Sidd at St Columb when I was coaching Cornish Wrestling on Friday, he mentioned he knew you! You checked out my site yet bud? I think Sidd & his boy Sam might be tempted to come down to the meet aswell :) So where abouts you from Glen? Im in Newquay, my father Gerry Cawley & brothers come from Mawgan, you know any of them?

Hi Ashley,
Sid and I have been friends since we met a Bodmin school, I expect you know about the Cornish wrestling connection in his family, its a big tradition and also fantastic that your teaching young Sam.
Your family don't ring no bells but I'm rubbish with names, good with faces though so you never know. Sid and sam usually come shooting with my son and I , we camp overnight as much as we can , so it would be great to get them to the meet.
I have checked out your website, very immpresive, you obviously have a deep passion for Bushcraft and Cornwall for that matter, both of which i understand completely.I'm looking forward to meeting everyone at the meet, I missed the chance to do that at Smartys RV, i think your gang was pitched over from us but we left early sunday morning.
Keep us posted on any developments regarding the weekend and I'll see you all soon.

Sorry to hear you cant make it Paul, will see you at the next ;)

A request: Does anyone have a large waterproof Tarp they could bring as a communal cover? Say like 3m wide by 5m, or 4m squared or something?

We do already have an old big-blue-tarp down at Woodland Valley, but as we've found out when it comes down to it, it isn't really waterproof!.. Its so old I think the material has become to porous.

The idea was.. to have two communal covers fairly near to each other, one large one being my parachute (definitely not waterproof) and then a second one nearby that would be waterproof that we could all bail to if it started to come down hard! I thought having two communal areas near to each other would offer more cooking space for people also.

As far as tarpaulins go Ashley, how about one of these?

Should do the trick, I'll pop into B & Q before the weekend and pick one up. :)

Hi Guys,

There's a big chance that i will have to work this weekend:( we have had a breakdown which has held up a very important job which has to be finished. If i'm really lucky i might be able to get away late saturday to join you all for the evening, but thats being optimistic to say the least. If i dont make it , have a good one and i'll see you all at the next meet.

Shame to hear a couple of you can't make it, but we'll look forward to seeing you at another soon :)

The weather forecast is looking superb for the weekend! I've got a localised forecast saying nothing but sun for the next four days.

I think me & Scott will be cooking some Bannock whilst we're down in the woods, if you fancy joining in feel free to bring some ingredients; its basic & you can throw whatever you fancy into the mix, here's what you'll need: www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/cooking-bannock

I think we'll be throwing some dried/mixed-fruit & honey into the mix, mmmmm.
See you all soon,

Thanks for a great weekend everybody. Sadly, the trap fell apart on the way back to the farm but we'll build it better next time.

Sorry to those who missed this one, hope to see you all next time. :)
