Arctic hat!

Any of you good folk got an idea where I can buy a good fur ( rabbit,fox and the like!) hat for use in arctic Sweden?
Struggling a bit to find much more than fake Russian ones!
Any ideas would be great!

I have, and love, a "Polar heater" from Fjällräven. It´s just like their "Nordic heater" but lined with rabbit fur but I can´t seem to find it listed anywhere.
Maybe politics have played and they have stopped using natural fur.
Anyway, I haven´t come across conditions where it wasn´t enough. Get it online or in any sportshop in northern sweden (in the south they may be out of stock because of low demand).

You can buy that kind of hat with real fur in most sport shops and even ordinary clothing shops in the north of sweden, and without the fox brand they are a lot cheaper. They even have them in the airport in kiruna last time I was there. I used mine on the way to work today.

I have one of the Fjällräven rabbit fur ones I bought from Tamarack last year have to say I love it great hat on a cold day.

I second the Ushanka, its warm and fuzzy and keeps me roasting hot!

A winter thread to be resurrected!

An 'ushanka' has been on my list for quite a few years, and I finally ordered one.
A Woolrich, woolblend plaid aviator hat by Dorfman Pacific, lined with Rabbit fur.

I really cant wait for it to arrive.

For me that old style red/black plaid is a classic bit of americana.

[Woolrich was set up by an english immigrant called John Rich who started out selling his fabrics to the the wives of hunters, loggers and trappers, in the 1830's, and is the oldest manufacturer of outdoor wear in the United States.]

You can pick up some very nice proper russian ushankas on ebay for around £35.

I seem to remember RM recommending Rabbit, but I think shearling from a lamb might be a warmer choice?

At least rabbit will match my coyote ruff.
