A lucky shot

    I've been here for a long time, but haven't posted in ages. My brother actually took this photo of his hammock on a June evening last year, (I was busy cooking dinner - if you look carefully you will see a spit in the bottom left hand corner of the pic) - and for me it sums up the whole ethos of bushcraft - living light, making no footprint, and yet being wholly involved with the natural world.

    Of course later that night we ate my home-made chicken curry, drank whisky and smoked pipes. But I still like to look back on that day.
