    New Site Feedback And Issues

Hello, Just a few words: Well, I am sorry that advertising has made such a big entry in BCUK. even if it is called sponsoring, it is advertising, and well, it makes the place far from what it used to be, both morally and visually, much less attractive to me. But then I suppose it was...

    Modify your karrymore Delta 35

Thanks tomtom ! looks better with proper spelling. -Switch- that's about the price, paid 90 euro for mine. The idea can probably be used on any pack that has a doubled back panel, the idea being to make a tubing frame that will keep the pouch made by the doubling, under tension. It is light...

    Modify your karrymore Delta 35

Yes, modify it to be the best ruck sack ever. It is great however it is very souple, and in summer, the back really glues to the back , and once really charged just turns into a bawl. So I made my own frame using aluminium tubing, a modification that will take an hour of your time...

RM and where to get his favorite Parang

Actually, I have gone into making my own parangs, this is 9" in 2.5 mm thick steel, weights 310 grams only. It is easy to make and works great... but is it only a short machete.

RM and where to get his favorite Parang

I am getting a bandol soon. It is a long time I have been asking wandi to produce a shorter parang, like the RM one, and he did it. Had no time until now to get one, (got a bit "kukri" focussed recently) but this is going to be resolved soon, evaluation coming soon after...

RM and where to get his favorite Parang

I reckon 11 to 13 inches of blade is what RM uses. Kukris can do some good things too, though I find them a bit more dangerous for me, because they glance more easily with my style. With the kukri, in general, you give a twist of the wrist forward and it does the reverse of a draw cut, with...

Wood treatment, what do you think?

You're welcome, I collect the resin from a sick or wounded pine, it is quick to make one kg this way. The following must be done in open air: Then heat small quantities of oil and throw 1/3 to 1/2 resin in it, bring to boil, heat until the resin has dissolved, take care, because wild pine...

Wood treatment, what do you think?

I use home made "danish oil" obtained by mixing pine rosin to boiled (and boiling) linseed oil. I find it often better than tung oil, as it does not give a plastic grip, but a good grip. Before: After: (two days soaking)

    New pocket axe

Hi Red ;) The grind was uneven, it had to be reprofiled. It was not sharp at all (flat parts on the cutting edge) I had to go a 2 or 3 10th of mm behind that point to find good non decarburized steel, but after 1/2 hour of work, it just came very good! got mine at toolshop.de, 36 euro, they...
