It's great to know that there is a place that we can legally wild camp and make a fire, without getting in trouble

Who's was that on a bike in Swindon?

You were heading in to town. You had to stop at the traffic lights, next to the groundwell estate turnoff

Who's was that on a bike in Swindon?

Driving down towards Groundwell Industrial Estate at about 13:30 today, I saw a guy on a bike wearing a bushcraftuk.com t-shirt. I was in the red corsa that passed you in the left hand lane. Who are you, and what a great bit of advertising. Whenever I see a website somewhere, and I don't...

    Campsite Fires

Hasn't the law changed in Scotland under the Scottish Access Legislation? You can make a fire as long as it is not on someone's doorstep or on national heritage land

While I wait for Tony to get back to me on the tv calendar, here is what we can look forward to in the new series after next week Date: Thursday 19th May 2005 Four Seasons. Ray Mears explores the world of bushcraft, the art of living outdoors relying on a knowledge of the natural world. Ray...

    Bushcraft Anthems

Let's see if anyone can remember this one, it was from a tv series. Everytime I hear it, I just want to get out into the open. 'Maybe' by Thom Pace from the series 'Grizzly Adams'. Here are the lyrics: Deep inside the forest Is a door into another land Here is our life and home We are...

    Amazing Electrical Storm!

That is spooky. I had a dream last night, at least I think it was a dream, but all I can remember of it is loud thunder, but no lightning

    Mears new series.

Just to add my bit. I think it was excellent. Just the sort of thing we bushcrafters have been hoping and waiting for. Even though I won't be going out to make a canoe, it gave you many things that can be used in other areas of bushrcaft (resin, roots into rope). Just hoping the rest of the...

No problem. Luckily digiguide lets me look at what new programmes have been added to the database from whatever date I select, so I should have no problems bringing it up to date

    Bushcraft TV

Just to let you know that there may be some programmes I don't add, due to the calendar currently being unavailable. I will try to catch up when it becomes available again

    Bushcraft Magazine?

I love the idea. Plus it would make working more bareable, when I know during my break I can read it, plus some people at work might flip through it (if I let them  ), and over time they might get interested.

    what should I do ?

I and a lot of us would never consider camping near a house. I would rather be miles from anywhere. As for campfires, I only use them to cook food and sometimes heat at night if it gets cold, and I put stones/rocks around the edge of the fire, and when I put it out, I stay there for an hr or so...

    what should I do ?

I'd prefer to do the walk. Take in the scenery. I know campfires are allowed in Scotland under the new law (is it legal yet?), but they ask you to keep it small and recommend using a stove especially in dry seasons

    what should I do ?

I've been thinking of going there. Looks really beautiful. Do you know if they allow wild camping and camp fires (for cooking only) there?

    Bushcraft Worldwide

I was just wondering how big bushcraft is across the world. I'm not talking about proper bush people, I'm talking about people who live in the modern world (have computers, 9 to 5 jobs) and do bushcraft at weekends and holidays. Just thinking if it is a big thing across the globe, has anybody...
