    Gun Advice

Hill Bill,, i've just been reading through this thread again. Can you clarify, on the land you were shooting you make reference to a public footpath running through it. Does that mean you were shooting on private land for which you have permission, which has a public footpath running through it...

    Gun Advice

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one mate. I've been a cop for 24 yrs on specialist firearm units, trained instructor and NSRA instructor. I am only saying how it is! I've been on numerous training courses and many many court cases where reasonable excuse has been discussed. Shooting...

    Gun Advice

I'm not saying that your local Bobby may have turned a blind eye to it, and probably in rural locations a lot of them may use common sense. But to say it is not an offence is wrong, and someone could read your post/thoughts and take it as correct, and end up getting in serious trouble and at...

    Gun Advice

Hillbill I think you are misquoting the legislation and someone is going to get into serious trouble if they follow your interpretation. "It is an offence under Section 19 of the Firearms Act 1968 for anyone without lawful authority or reasonable excuse to have with him in a public place a...

    large tin cans?

A mate of mine works at a local hospital, we wanted some for making hobo stoves for the scouts so he just went and asked the kitchen staff, there were loads out near the bins from tomatoes etc. Most places that do catering will have plenty that they throw away, try local pubs, restaurants etc.

What do the scouts actually do now?

What do scouts do anyway? Well i'm the Scout Leader at our local troop and since April, our Scouts have done, Backwood cooking on open fires, produced a video for the website, had a water weekend camp down at Trent Lock sailing canoeing, kayaking and fire skills, tonight they're shooting, in...

    Drilling a Mora knife handle

Mainly for security. It helps to keep it secured to the sheath when attached to a belt, allows it to be worn around the neck, this concealed, when on scout camps, (i'm a scout leader), and in the wrist strap mode, you don't drop it!!

    Drilling a Mora knife handle

Yep, just done mine also and added some paracord, plaited to the size as a wrist loop, and when undone to wear around the neck. When worn around the neck I hink i'll loop one side around the sheath clip just in case it comes loose, it's a pretty sharp piece of kit! Togger

Okay, so this morning my new Mora bushcraft knife arrived, the one one with the black & green rubberised handle in a plastic sheath. I've gone for the carbon blade. I am thinking of drilling a hole to attach a lanyard. Has anyone drilled through the top of the handle of one so as to attach a...
