I agree with you Paganwolf. If anyone should be complaining it is Gary who has spent a lot of time. money and personal effort setting up what looks like a great course and one from which the members of this forum could have, AND STILL CAN benefit.

Why all the secrets? What are woodlore worried about? May they are worried one of the other 'wood' companies will copy what they do it does seem to be the way of the woods.

Great programme, VERY AMUSING TOO, although they dont teach much in the way of protecting the enviroment. Is that the difference between survival and bushcraft do you think?

I caught this this evening Brummie Stokes and SAS guy. It was a good programme a little tongue in cheek and the skills were a little rough around the edges but I guess this is the difference better survival and bushcraft eh!

I like the idea of going into the wilds with nothing but my knife but I have to say common sense says I dress correctly and carry minimum emergency gear at the least. Although I am sure my minimum and someone more experienced would be a little different.

I carry one of Bearclaws pouches too. I enquired about these from Gary and he said that the idea was to carry the pouch near the body where its warmth would dry out damp tinder, thus far this has worked well for me. I also asked about the tinder getting wet as I do a lot of canoeing back home...
