    Rabbits

The unseasonably dry weather is why there's not too many bunnies around at the moment. The won't drink out of puddles or suchlike and rely on the dew and moisture from plants. As there hasn't been heavy dews (not around these parts anyhow) they have been staying in their warrens. They've...

    False Idols

I'm amused by this thread but it does beg the general question ... do you spend too much time reading/watching/surfing the net for 'bushcraft' instead of actually getting out and putting all these skills (some of which you will never need) into practice? Ray Mears god? probably not .. but he is...

    Decathlon trousers - any good

Not sure what pair I've got but they're from Decathlon and they are hard as nails as well as comfy. Not to mention they were cheap as chips. I got mine in the hunting section and not the hiking bit.

    Day Jobs!

Aparently I'm "Dole Blaggin' Scum" :240: . Going to college, as an imature mature student, in just over 2 weeks time to study Countryside Management and Conservation. It's only taken 15 years and countless jobs to find out what I want to do with my life and yet this is the scariest thing I've...

    Photographs from the Bushmoot 2008

As Switch said, just boiled in water as it has a lovely flavour to it. I'm not sure I want to add any more salt to it but wouldn't mind trying it with unsalted butter. Glad I could amuse you :D

british big cats - your views

In short, I believe they are out there but I don't believe they would attack people unless seriously provoked. There is lots of evidence to suggest they exist in our wilder places but any of this evidence that is a sighting is the big cat running away. I can understand the people that doubt...

    Cheap Tarp Alternative?

Only reason I could see for not using them is that they're bright blue and extremely bulky. Other than that they make good group tarps. Not sure what part of the world you're in but get to decathlon, they have nice sized tarps which are light for £20 .. well worth it in my opinion. (nope...

    Lost at moot

Eh? Noooo, don't thank me .. I'm not the one who held on to it "just in case". I'm glad you've not lost it though Rod, I must admit I panicked a bit when I saw this thread as I remember picking it up out of the dirt but wasn't sure what had happened to it

    french army sleeping bag

giz, how much is it going for and where? Reason I ask is that I'm using a Eurohike jobbie at the moment, and whilst it's a good bag that does what it's supposed to I'm looking around for a new bag so that I can retire my current one. I'm not wanting to pay too much for a new one seeing as how...

I got to take two exams in November? Any Help!

Maybe I've been out of work for so long the world has changed but surely if your company are asking you to do an exam they would also tell you the best way to swot up for said exam, or at the very least point you in the right direction for some help? Can't offer any help other than "do lots of...

    Unwanted visitors

For some strange reason I get approached in the streets by the religious types. I don't have a problem with people having faith etc etc but I do have a problem with them trying to convert me. (I do have a theory about why so many approach me though, I've been told I look like Jesus what with the...
