Just got a stainless steel spork (I was too tight for titanium). The knife bit is nearly sharp enough to shave with  I'm tempted to try a featherstick with it!
There are 2 Champs in the Amazon Warehouse for £34.09 at the moment: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001SIHPV0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You're in esteemed company Jonathon - anyone else see the knife Karl Pilkington was using on the desert island in the first episode on an idiot abroad 2?
I had a quick try of one of these at a Scout meeting the other week and wasn't convinced I could lie out straight without touching the sides head and toe. I'm 6'1" so could anyone confirm the dimensions - we might not have had the tent as taught as it will go and I've seen 2.5m as the advertised...
Much discussion on the internet about it. I think true in principle in that similar walks seemed to have been completed but there are some discrepencies between this acount and actual records.
Wow - great comments :D
I just asked our GSL about the funds and away I went. As mentioned, the Moras are very cheap - £3 each or so from Clas Olsen. The Leeds shop was particularly helpful - a member of staff actually brought the knives up to me as she had some business in Newcastle...
Firelighting we've done plenty of! I was amazed at the Scouts inability to know when sausages were done though. "Is it done yet" - offering a up a sausage that's had about as much cooking as warming it with a hair dryer!
Well, after much trepidation (on my part!) my Scouts safely made tent pegs armed with a bunch of shiny new Mora 511s and under plentiful supervision. Makes me feel like I've passed a right of passage or something :D
Axes and saws next week!
