Hi guys,
Can anyone recommend good summer jobs in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. I'm starting a PGCE in September but need something to tide me over. Any recommendations?
Cheers,
Matt
Hi y'all.
It's beginning to look like myself and the missus are moving up to Geordieland. Was hoping someone could give advice on the best places to live. She'll be working in Blyth, but I'll probably teacher training it up at the uni. So needs to be equidistant really. Which places should we...
Hi,
I'm getting married in June09 and I'm looking for a bunkhouse/camping barn with a field attached to hold the reception in. Preferably within a half an hours drive of Sheffield (Hunters Bar side) and with a sweet view.
Please get in touch if you know of anywhere. Or even if you know of a...
Surgical Alcohol works fine. In the south of the continent it get harder to find meths. I spent 2days looking for meths in Slovenia before resorting to surgical alcohol. It was super cheap at 6quid for half a litre:eek:
Purchased a Bivibag a while back and never had chance to use it in a downpour till the other day. Suffice to say I got soaked. Not just talking damp, but actual puddles of water in the bag.
Now I've had the bag a while, so I don't think I can really complain to the seller. What would you do...
It's always tough to turn back, especially when it is an event many people build their training year around it. If it was me I would have wanted to race. I respect the OMM, and those who do it are generally the best. It's an international event, many will have been out in worse.
I've never seen a small compactable square ended bag which was designed for anything other than summer use.
The problem with square ends is that there is alot of space for pockets of cold air to develop. If you want to be toasty get a mummy bag.
Or huddle with friends:grouphug:
These guys are not fair weather campers. I wish them the best of luck. It's gonna be a miserable few days in the hills for those lightweight enthusiasts.

Sorry if this has already been posted but it's important and if you've not signed it you really should. If you injure your self in the mountains/hills/woods/valleys it'll be these boys and girls responding!
Find info on it here...
Firstly I really recommend Snugpak sleeping bags and insulated products. They rock and are made in Britain (so no worries about sweatshops and less worry about ridiculous carbon footprints).
Secondly on liners. I like silk liners. Definately worth the cost, saying that mine was super cheap...
I remember when I was in Slovenia once this poor guy and his ladyfriend I passed. The lass had maybe a 10litre bag, the poor old sod was carrying an 80+L bag stuffed to the brim. Yikes.
I generally offer to carry the larger bag, and then hope secretly she declines...
