Still can't find any thing that tells me why charcoal is worse than wood (and the tipi is designed for that) but discretion is the better part of valor and it won't take much effort to throw up a tarp and BBQ under that. Thanks for the replies chaps.

To the people that know about such things. I have a fire box and some charcoal and was wondering if bbq- ing in a tipi tent was a good idea (if it is pouring with rain) or am I going to end up with carbon monoxide poisoning ? (is it differect to just buring some hard wood?) Thanks

Thanks guys, so it seems the gen 1s are ok close in or with a ir lamp. Gen 2 and 3 good under star light. Seems i am going to be saving up for a long time if i want a Gen 2 or 3 one. while i am on anyone know anything about range finders (or should i be starting a new topic). Cheers

I can't remember, i think you have to make an allowance for daylight savings time if your watch is set to it (ie your watch has to be on local time, which is close to the local solar time). I am sure someone here will know. Any way in summer in the UK if your watch is on BST knock an hour off...
