If it is a case that the zipper open up after being zipped closed, look on The Tube for zipper repair videos. It shows how to carefully squeeze the openings in the slider to stop this. Has worked for me every time if the zipper just opening where closed is the issue. Only good for metal sliders.
As for the drinking mugs, something we use here in the states is called "envirotech" to line and "liquid proof" the mugs for daily use. This is used a lot by vendors who make these for sale at SCA events. Not sure what name it might be under over there.
Actually, appearance aside, you might have just "created a monster". That looks very practical and even more-so with a little wider brim if it can be stiffened if needed. The way things go today on-line don't be surprised if it pops up on the web. Won't be by me but who knows.
Before replacing the zipper, is it because it opens up while still zipped? If it is, go to YouTube and view the videos on repairing it by simply squeezing the slider slightly to narrow the openings where the teeth slide through. Youi'll get the picture. It works for me in most of the one's...
I believe here we call them walking sticks, hiking staffs, etc. They come in all shapes and sizes, both natural and what would be considered finished wood like ones you see in the movies and such. I'd like to post the ones I make but as of yet there's been no response to my inquiries on how...
Can anyone tell me how to load pics from my own PC? All I see is the URL locator window and I don't use pic storage on line for my own bushcraft photos. This is a little different then on BCUSA. An email to mycourtier@gmail.com would help, or a PM, thanks. Windows XP machine.
I am of the opinion that lots of stuff is so "over technical" today. Here in the States we used to be able to get a Maglite 2AA Led that was just a great all around light. But now if you want one it has (twist for high and low, do this for SOS, do that for self defense strobe). If I want that...
Greetings from the Great Pacific North Wet (Oregon). Some perusing of the history of the Canadian "First Nations" might just pop up some "tidbits" that can lead you further in a study of what is there to see. We go to Vancouver Island, BC, and Alberta fairly regular and the net has produced...
I'd like to contribute but you guys have seemed to cover it pretty good from my point of view. Thanks for the reminder of what does get forgotten at times.
The problem is straight forward. The fire gods saw your drill, and punished you by removing all the oxygen from around your hearth. (no brainer)
Use a Forstner bit the right size to inset the bearings into a wood handle. Can be held in with epoxy around the edges. We find old in-line skates for cheap at thrift (charity) shops or garage and yard sales. Then you get 8 bearings at once and can pass some on.
I get the same sense of pleasure doing this. Same as I used to get as a child when I would lay up in the "package tray" under the back window of the car and watch the rain hit the window above me and I'm staying perfectly protected and dry.
My wife and I always joke about how inexpensive property must be in Midsomer due to the "crime rate" portrayed on screen. I would especially stay clear of Badgers Drift. And one thing we have noticed is the apparent Peacock population in the background.;)
