Take a look at the British army modular sleep system, in particular the Medium weight bag, which is basically a clone of the Corinthia Defence 4. Its a great bag. Not light or small but very warm and designed to take a beating. Prices are £30 - £50 depending on weather you buy used or new/unissued.
This thread has gone a little stale but I've been using the current British issue medium bag (with issued poly cotton liner) through last winter both in tents and in a hammock in conjunction with the Snugpak underblanket. One of the warmest bags I've ever used but with the aforementioned...
The axes come from the oldest axe foundry - 1697 i believe in Hults Bruk, Sweden. I don't have the retail packaging for my GK/OK1 any longer, and it isn't stamped on the knives so I can't refute the China link.

My Hultafors Axe is made in Sweden (Where does China come into it) using american Hickory timber for the shaft. The knives use Japanese steel but are made in Sweden also.

Hi There. The British Issue Medium bag is just a Corinthia Defense 4 made under license by the MOD's contractor. It's exactly the same bag. The Issue lightweight bag is the Corinthia Tropen, again made under license.
I have the Medium Bag (in both medium and large) and also a Snugpak Jungle for...
Agreed - my Green Hornet and Compact hammocks have been really good purchases.
I replaced the supplied rope on the Compact with some of the daisy chain tree huggers and dutch clips just using a bit of the rope to gather the hammock ends and create a loop on which to attach a carabiner. I'm...
I just checked my MTP bivi bag that I picked up new with the Medium doss bag and liner as part of an ebay deal. I havent used it yet and It's the one with the triangle. Result.
I still have my old Survival Aids OD goretex bivi bag that I bought in the early 90s, before they started issuing...
I have 2 hammocks, The Tenth Wonder Green Hornet (double zip version) and the Tenth Wonder Compact Hammock. When there's a chance of bugs I use the Green Hornet as it has the integral mosquito net and in winter I use the Compact - just a basic double layered gathered end hammock. It allows me to...
Hey there - I have the same system without the lightweight bag as I have the Snugpak Jungle bag instead. So far I've not needed to used the jungle bag inside the Medium bag.
I 'believe' the liner is only used with the main bag. The other bag is intended for the warm months where, from a thermal...
For wild camping I'm using the Snugpak Jungle bag in summer and the UK army/Fesca Medium weight bag with polycotton liner in the Winter. I have to say the new army 'medium' bag is probably the best military bag I've ever used. So warm. The only downside is the bulk and weight, and the liner is a...
I got the Hultafors OK1 a while ago, In fact I got 2 - 1 for me and 1 for the boy's christmas stocking. I already had the GK. To me the OK series is an evolution of the GK, with the OK1 being the first stage (blade coating and spine grind) and the OK4 being the second evolution - new handle. I...
2009 on the label, made by Arwy. I've now got a quick release buckle on the belt and a chest harness strap too. Will be using it this weekend with all my other new stuff.
Got the zips sorted, a pair of PLCE pockets and also a Molle pouch for the front to put small items in. I find you can fit an issue camelbak inside the internal side sleeves as well.
Video of the bag before modification.
