'As dictated by UK officials, UK VAT 20 % will be added to orders with a VAT excluded total of under 135 GBP. We will settle these taxes to the UK Gov. For orders with VAT excluded total of over 135 GBP, prices will be VAT free and you...
Well done Snufkin. Just picked my email up from them announcing the news and was going to post but you've already sorted it. Just in case anyone's wondering, the courier is UPS. Been wanting to add a Skrama 200 to my collection for quite a while and just ordered it, no problem.
+1 for Snugpak. Two models worth considering - The Stratosphere is their version of a hooped bivvi. The Ionosphere is slightly larger, (a bit larger than a hooped bivvi but smaller than a regular one man tent). Loads of reviews for both on youtube.
Can't go wrong with a Casio G Shock Tough Solar. I've had mine (GW-2310-1ER) as an everyday watch since Dec 2013. Still going on the original battery without so much as a hiccup. Can't recommend them enough.
Trangia website shows 20 versions of Trangia 25 sets with various permutations of components. have a look (link below) and filter to show Trangia 25 sets (only). Once you've found the one to suit your needs a quick search on t'interweb should lead you to a supplier stocking the one you fancy...
£65 for a genuine issue one sounds a bit steep. There's always loads of issue ones on ebay so might be worth having another look there. I've just had a quick look. - (Assuming you're in the UK) there's plenty of used ones from around £15 onwards and a number of brand new ones offered by various...
If you're not looking for a Gucci option I use a British army Osprey 9mm mag pouch as a pouch for my 111 mm Swiss Army knife. Cheap as chips and robust enough to outlive me. Loads on ebay, new and used.
No mention that you are avoiding Victorinox so any of their 91mm size would fit the bill (non locking and cutting edge under 3 inches). Have a look and see if any of the range takes your fancy. I've carried the handyman for over 20 years and lost count of the times it's proved useful.
Agree, These are bomb proof and under rated. Anyone thinking of buying one, do check ebay or other surplus shops first. Just did a quick check and there are quite a few out there and they are nowhere near £85.
Agreed the Jaakaripuukko is a great knife but just to manage expectations of noobies in the UK looking to buy one, prices have gone up (combination of rise in production costs, UK leaving the EU and - I suspect -the knife becoming more popular). The Varusteleka website currently shows the total...
When I bought my MOD survival knife from Heinnie Haynes I also bought the below nylon sheath (after reading some reviews on Heinnie's site). Fairly cheap and knife fits fine. Don't know if it's what you had in mind but might be worth a look.

Hi All

Stanley Adventure (two cup) Cookset
Hi all
Quite a few bushcrafters in the US rave about a small cook kit produced by Stanley consisting of a 24oz stainless steel mug with lid and two nesting insulated cups. I've been looking for a while but most UK prices are quite high for the size of the...
Have a good look on ebay. Start by using 'metal ladder lock' as your search term and you'll find loads of variations on basic metal webbing fittings. Good luck with your search.
If you are interested in making your own, I posted a copy of the best instructional video I found in a 2019 thread on this site (titled 'Zebra Billy Pot Clips'). Might be worth a look if you fancy (or are forced down) the DIY route.
Hi Woody Girl
Over on YouTube, Mark Young has done a few videos about using wood pellets in various wood stoves including the Lixada woodgas stove. (He's also done some really thoughtful reviews on various stoves and other bits of outdoor kit. He also comes up with ideas for 'make your own'...
My pleasure mate and honestly you don't owe me anything. I think one of the main benefits of the site is that we can help each other out whenever possible.
