    Lite Outdoors Titanium Stove

Have a Lite Outdoors Titanium stove with both 12" and 18" bodies. The 12" body has been used a few times, but the 18" is brand new still in its wrapper. There is a 9 foot titanium chimney with this as well. The site I bought this from is currently unavailable due to a Wordpress error, but from...

    Shiny Cliff Woods: Part Deux

Blimey, not a good start to the year, but good to know you're on the positive side of things. Well, it's been a week Grotty, so it looks like it might just be the pair of us... you still up for it, or given your penchant for the colder climes, maybe the Cairngorms might be more appropriate? I'm...

    Shiny Cliff Woods: Part Deux

I know, 3 years!!!!! I was considering selling some kit when I came across a mystery bag, opened it, it was from that weekend! It had the stuff I'd packed for fire starting... must've have packed it away after the weekend and forgotten about it. Mind you, I drove 6 hours to pick up Mick on the...

    Shiny Cliff Woods: Part Deux

3 years ago, seven brave souls agreed to meet in a place called Shiny Cliff woods. When the snow fell on said woods, only five appeared and in the wind, rain and the snow, they battled through with goat meat, rice pudding and a silver birch dragged down a hill... it was more than an adventure...

And this week's winner of the Darwin Award is...

It is bizarre to hear the 'news' outlets comment on this event as if the lure of cash from YouTube is responsible for the death of a young father. Problem is, there was no cash to be had. Because of the nature of the video, even if it had worked out as the chap planned, it would have been...

    Poor show

I honestly wasn't attempting to get on a 'high horse'. I was attempting to be good humoured about what I thought was a discussion and obviously failed abysmally. I apologise for commenting, it won't happen again M.

    Gloves for around Camp

I use leather firefighter's gloves. They're flame retardant, waterproof and insulated.. so you can grab a burning log on the fire to move it out of the way, pick up a boiling pot and there is a good range of movement with them. Only issue is the price... they sell for about £100 new... but...

    Poor show

From a legal perspective, you're entirely correct M... I personally wasn't focusing on the legality of some kids playing in the woods and building a den, more about what they learn doing it. I did write a couple of paragraphs out, but reading it back before posting I've deleted it all. Not...

    Poor show

Blimey, if I'd had the resources to build something like that when I was young and care free, I'd have been over the moon. Vandalism? They built something, perhaps not something that everyone appreciates, but its not as if they've scrawled on the walls of a railway tunnel or smashed up a bus...

    Open invitation arctic meet 2017

Hi gents, apologies for my absence.. unfortunately I haven't had access to a method of contact for a bit. Blunt of it is, whether I like it or not, I won't be going anywhere at the end of the month… I'll be lucky to have a driving license, let alone a passport or approval for travel. It...

    Rubiks Cube help!

Two tricks I learned… either peel the stickers off and make each side equal… or you can have entirely new stickers cut to size, job done. Worst place to be is to complete it properly…. my nephew can do it in under 3 minutes, but he's weird… I couldn't do it in 3 years...

    Real Life Russian Hunger Games.

If they're subject to Russian law, then there won't be any law breaking… they know what happens when you break the law (well, without paying first) Be interesting to see who they go about surviving in Siberia… it may be a varied environment, but its not the friendliest. Decent...

    Ray mears knife collection

Due respect? So owning a knife SWC made means automatically there needs to be a moment of worship every time SWC's work is shown from now on? Did you run this by him prior to his premature death? Have you been assigned as his white knight who now trawls the internet in his name to ensure...

    Veggies get a raw deal

It depends… there would be a greater demand for vegetables, grain, dairy… and there would be more transportation of these goods, so the jobs might not end, but be transformed… pretty much as it has been throughout history. Appreciate jobs will be lost, but that is one of the...

    Veggies get a raw deal

Not to mention the vegetarians that only eat vegetables that are already dead… fruitarians I think… or I might have dreamt it. Either way, its a bit daft.

    Veggies get a raw deal

As I say, there is very little that I wouldn't at least try if it is edible, so puppies, foals, tiny monkey kebabs or even koala stew, any of it… not a problem. But it is a bit strange that meat eaters will distinguish between what is acceptable to process for meat and what isn't. The...

    Veggies get a raw deal

I hadn't looked at it from the perspective that I'm eating dead things… interesting way of viewing it. The pedantic (shurely not!) would say that the vegetables are dead as well, but there are very few meats I could imagine eating raw whereas vegetable wise, there are many. Funny you...

    Veggies get a raw deal

Just to clarify, the reason I excluded fish is primarily because of excessive fishing. The oceans of the world, just like anything else, are not infinite and nor are the fish populations… if they don't have the chance to regain their stocks, they tend to be the exception to farming equals...
