Seeking a paltry amount of poultry advice.

We kept a dozen birds in a 12' x 12' run with no problems - although we have since enlarged it by 50% and keep about 18. If you use something that is compostable such as dead leaves, hay or straw you will be able to compost it whenever you clean the run just by piling it in a bin - it won't...

    Campfire pizza

I've made pizza on the home grill many times, and it turns out quite good using indirect heat and a hot pizza stone. Over a campfire you might want to make a reflector out of aluminum foil and perhaps use a hot cast iron skillet - probably let the fire burn to coals first. Hard to miss - even...

Best improvised water heating system for off-grid shelter?

I wonder what would be the maximum lift from something on the order of a coffee percolator?

Getting out when you are crocked or otherwise disabled

Had to read this one when I saw the subject - "half crocked" here means moderately drunk. Anyway, good luck. Just don't do anything that makes it last longer than it has to.

    Vintage leather bag find!

Only some kind of creature which evolved within a complex competitive hierarchical social structure. But we're all well past that of course. ;) Except our presidential candidates.

Some new clothes for my favourite knife.

Great job all around. That looks like my kind of knife.

Quick guide to Home Roasting Coffee (Pic Heavy)

One more thing like homemade bread or homegrown tomatoes that people just don't know what they have missed.

    Game of Thrones

I hope ********************** comes back somehow - maybe Melisandre resurrects him like Thoros did Berik. Not a spoiler - could be anyone. Anyway, watch them already!!

    Wood for scales

If you are building a showy custom knife then you can get really nice affordable wooden scales all over the internet. If you want something nice, but not flashy then kiln dried scraps of any hard stable wood (walnut, maple, cherry, etc) from a wood shop work great. If you want to use wood that...

    11,000 year old pendant...

I bet it was intended to impress the ladies, and enhance social status.

They are going to kill us all! :)

I remember the first calculator I ever saw when I was in 4th grade - it had big red led numbers and would only add, subtract, multiply, and divide - I think my math teacher paid $150 for it. My dad used a mechanical adding machine with a hand crank and a paper ribbon. We live in interesting times.

    Amusing little film

You may well be correct - I have no experience with either of those brands. I've certainly heard of and read about Festool products, but they are 3 or more times the cost of perfectly adequate tools in many cases - I've never seen any of them in use. Not many tradesmen (none that I know) can...

    Woodie / walnut.

Sure, but I've seen your work mentioned in several places - always with glowing reviews. If I were a collector rather than a hobby maker I would invest in your knives.

Someone else using my images commercially without my permission....

You should just watermark all of your images with your URL and then be happy when they get recycled. I have lots of honey bee pictures online that have been repurposed in similar manner.

Drill powered lathe.. need help designing one!

I actually have one that I made from a small drill press. The hardest part to make was the drive spindle that engages the workpiece - which I made out of a large nut threaded onto a short piece of threaded rod (sharpened) I used a file to cut spurs into the nut to engage the work. The tail...

    Woodie / walnut.

I don't understand why people aren't having to get in line for your knives.
