A random, but very pleasant, surprise encounter!

Not been on this forum for a while, but used to frequent these parts some years back. The 'gift it on' and any kind of thread about making stuff generally. I even made a Toddy shirt back in the day! Jump to today and I'm on holiday with my wife and kids, and being a bit of a history nerd we...

    A bargain tarp (possibly)

And the verdict is........ it's not entirely terrible. Good: The shape is great, very useful. Material is decent, not too thick. Sealed seams. Webbing tabs and gussets on all corners. Stitching is adequate but not the neatest. The poles are reasonable quality, but I wouldn't use them so that's...

    A bargain tarp (possibly)

I've just found this in my local Lidl, I thought it was worth a punt at £19.99!! 4.3m x 3.5m, PU coated polyurethane, 2000mm hydrostatic head, winged shape by the looks of it. Comes with poles and guys, which I'll probably bin off/ replace. If it's total carp then it'll do for a shade shelter...

    Good thing that's happened

Not bushcraft related in the slightest, but yesterday I found the diamond that fell out of my wifes engagement ring last September!!! Our washing machine leaked and while I was clearing up the flood I found it in a crack between our wooden floor and the skirting board in the laundry room...

    All Grain Home Brewery

Hi all, I know this is nothing terribly new or breaking any moulds, but after years of kit brewing I decided to build my own all grain system. I went for a 3 tier gravity fed system made from normal brew kit and household items. Cheap and cheerful is the way! I made a few videos of the...

Hand twist press eyelet setter - help needed!

I picked up this at a carboot at the weekend as it looked very useful indeed! It came with one set of eyelet setting dies, the top half of which has damaged threads. I'd like to use this for hole punching as well as eyelet setting but can't seem to find and hole punches to go in it! Doesn't...

Pfaff 463 Industrial sewing machine, trying again!

Evening all, really need this gone so I'm trying again. It's a cracking machine, super tough, mega reliable. It's on ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/161936739395? But if anyone on here wants to offer me £150 before any bids hit the auction I'll cancel the listing. Collection...
