Anyone using a TV as a Monitor?

I used to have 2 x 22" inch monitors side by side to be able to have all the programs I use on the go at once, now I have an old 42" AOC, resolution is set at 1920 x 1080. It's on a normal desk so probably too close really usually between 600 and 800mm from screen to eye. It is quite bright as...

    Rolson 7-in-1 Multi-Tool with LED ?

Completely agree with this, a lot of the Rolson stuff is in the category of a shiny, nice idea, but not heavy duty, just good for giving as cheap gifts at Christmas.

    Drones

Was visiting a relative on Sunday in a quiet rural area next to a canal and he has a walled garden, a drone come overlooking the garden, completely spoiled the quiet relaxed atmosphere, all of a sudden we are being spied on, if I'd had an air rifle close it would have "gone missing". I do...

    Massive kit clear out Fife

Needs to be a list as a starting point or some pictures of the whole lot, not sure of the reasoning behind the post, I can't buy something off you if I don't know what it is. Try listing 10 of the items and see how it goes.

British Army issue Tin opener (the one found in the old tin rations 1980’s)

could also have been an issue of cost, stamped as opposed to unstamped.

    F-A-K- Realistic Carry

mick91.......... should we be worried about closing up a wound with dirt in it, should there be some 'wound wash' and use that before the superglue?

British Army issue Tin opener (the one found in the old tin rations 1980’s)

Entirely possible, usually though official army stuff would have the MOD spec number printed or stamped into it.

British Army issue Tin opener (the one found in the old tin rations 1980’s)

Maybe the cadet ones were different from army issued ration packs. Just checked the one in the survival box and that one has: 129-9982 BAW 'Broadarrow' 1979 So the other way round to my keyring one: 1979 - W.P.W 'Broadarrow' 129 - 9982 and also the stamping is on the blade side rather...

British Army issue Tin opener (the one found in the old tin rations 1980’s)

I have 2 of them, from when I was in the TA(Royal Engineers) in the early eighties. One is on a keychain the other is in a survival box. The one in front of me now has stamped into it: 1979 - W.P.W 'BROADARROW SYMBOL' 129 - 9982 So I guess it was made in 1979.

    Bahco Laplander...the best saw ever?

I bought a folding saw from Aldi a couple of years ago and thought that was good enough for my small needs and found it to be a good saw. After reading another thread I bought the Bahco expecting greatness but unfortunately I was a little dissappointed, doesn't cut as well as the Aldi one and...

    Which cheap small fixed blade?

here you go you'll also notice that there is a ridge behind the button, this sits into the recess adjacent to the hole and keeps it sitting dead straight, simple but brilliant design from Mora. Known as the 'Combi Sheath'.

    Which cheap small fixed blade?

if you look at the back of the Mora plastic sheath you'll notice a hole, this is the same on most of the Mora plastic sheaths, it means that you can connect one sheath onto the button of the other sheath, so you effectively have them 'stacked' in one place on your belt, the front one will be...

Interesting way to make a knife

Not trying to cause a row but just to correct some assumptions: Although that is true, he did it 3 times more than likely to ensure the oil gets into the pores of the steel to blacken and get the oil absorbed into the surface to help anti corrosion as well as to harden it. Standard engineers...
