    We Made A Big Mistake

My biggest fear is that if something happens, my other half will sell all my kit at the price I told her I paid for it! :O

A bit of a late spring clearout!

Quite fancy that old school Bowie, but I think I might be finding out how sharp it is, intimately, if I buy it and my girlfriends finds out. Apparently I have enough knives. Mind if I sit and look at it for a bit? ;)

    Crosman 1077 - 12 shot Co2 rifle + extras.........

It's a CO2 bulb powered gun, what power were you expecting? As a matter of fact, the 7.8 ft.lb in .177 (assuming a pellet weight of 9 grains, about average for .177) is fine for rats and such at reasonable ranges. It's not going to be a 40 yard rabbit gun, but for close in stuff it's ideal!

    A Warning Re Quikclot

Martyn, interesting and informative posts there. Just a point of interest, you were talking about ABCDE and DABCDE. I was always taught the first, but recently have refreshed and the latter is now current. The way it was explained was, if there is bleeding present, especially arterial...

    Are you a blood donor?

I donated regularly from 18 until 28. Then I had some issues which leave me taking several meds, including an anticoagulant, so obviously they don't want my blood any more. I also received a unit of blood during OHS and once you've taken, you can't give for some reason. There are several...

    Found this little chap

Harvest, they're actually fairly rare over here too. It always amazes me though, that they turn out to live exactly where there is a disputed development of some sort!

What make are the bins? What's the blade length of the knife, and is it a liner lock ?

    Barbour Backhouse Stockman 3/4 coat

I believe approved practice is between one and ten years thrown on the floor of the kitchen as a dog bed. Length of time is dictated by the age, malodorousness and incontinence of the dog. In the absence of an aging canine, six months buried under the nearest dung heap is acceptable as long as...

    Swiss Army Tampon!

Don't forget paracord has seven (or nine) strands of fairly strong nylon in the core, so your foot length immediately turns in to ten feet of fine cordage which could be used as a fishing line or similar when tied together. So nur!

insect bites, best healing product required

As Bronski says, Ibuprofen is contra-indicated with several other drugs. Certainly it should not be taken with any other nsaids [non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs] (for example diclofenac sodium). Also it can have an unpredictable effect on the effectiveness of anticoagulants such as...

    Gas bottles on the loose.

Tengu, I'd be interested in one for my make challenge project. Preferably something around the 15kg capacity mark. Condition not important and air tightness not important as it'll be modified with an angle grinder! Where abouts in Wilts are you? I'm in Lambourn so could collect late next week...

    Midgies!! Help

I've also found that they don't seem to bite me. The only thing I can put this down to is being on Warfarin (anti-coagulant used in rat poison) because of my artificial heart valve. I reckon either they don't like the taste, or they have a sip and bleed to death! Bit of an extreme remedy I...

    Midgies!! Help

The mozzie coils work in an enclosed space, though I'm not sure how much good the smoke will do you. However, they're no use whatsoever when you're walking, or doing something active, or even sitting out of an evening. The only thing I've found to work, over a season of ghillying in the...

In a state of post bushcraft boredom, I found this on YouTube

Aaaagh, slow motion, don't put up links to that, I have other stuff to do. But it's sooo addictive! I want a high fps camera!
