Weird. It worked when I posted it. Maybe the weather took the tree down or something! It was really snowing heavy.

Hey, does anyone work in the UK offshore sector?

Hi Thenihilist. I was wondering if anyone knows any decent agencies or companies taking on new starts and thought I'd ask on here, out of desperation ! haha Any advice on getting a start would be great. I have my BOSIET, MIST and Medical cert already, but everywhere I try says "must have...

Estonian Osprey nest (- the ospreys)

I was going to post this a while back and forgot and they've left the nest now, but it was Estonian Ospreys feeding their chicks. 24/7 webcam. It's actually pretty relaxing, like being in the forest in winter even without them :) they'll be back in spring :) Worth a bookmark eh :)...

Hey, does anyone work in the UK offshore sector?

Hi, not been on here for a while, been very busy. I know this isn't bushcrafty but I was wondering last night if anyone on here works on the oil and gas rigs around the UK? I'm trying to get on them myself you see. Trying anything and everything. Once I do, I'll be bushcrafting with a vengeance...

    cross bows your view

Well I'd have thought if it broke near the end then it's going to slice you right across the face and neck. And if one of the arms broke, you'd definitely get a right smack in the kipper.

    cross bows your view

What are the safety implications when using a crossbow? If the string breaks can it whip you across the face/neck or does it all go forwards if it breaks?

My 400 mile charity walk - advice needed please

I agree with gus. 15-18 miles a day over big hills is about right in my experience with 20kg and tenting it.

Guys, any ideas to earn some money?

I did actually say £70 sounded insane. The other's were more like £30-40. I'm not saying I'm selling them or making things to order or advertising, just trying to get advise on how to make them. If I want to sell on here I'll become a full member, don't worry I won't try and sneak past you.

What weight do you carry when you go hiking?

I'm with you there old timer. I'd rather have stuff and not need it, than the other way around. Weather's pretty unpredictable, especially these days.

What weight do you carry when you go hiking?

and my mobile phone, just in case. modern safety net, but if it's there, silly not to use it if you need it. and a digital camera with 10 spare batteries haha which weigh a ton

What weight do you carry when you go hiking?

I do tend to take too much stuff. 1ltr of fluid = 1kg. I usually just carry 3litres on me at the start of the day and replenish when I can. Better to have too much than not enough. I try to have enough food for longer than I'm away too in case I snap my leg or something and have to crawl into a...

Guys, any ideas to earn some money?

Well, I saw these paracord belts going for £70 odd which I thought was insane but the cheaper one's still far exceeded the cost of materials, so I got 200foot of paracord and a belt buckle (titanium) but this one guide I found to do it vanished while I was waiting to get the materials and now I...
