I was recently given an old 2 man tent, it is in great condition apart from the waterproof base, which isn't any more as water seeps through over night. What can be done about it? would a solution of silicone mastic and white spirit work? Cheers Chris

Finally got my self a canoe

I got this thrown in with 60's Karrimor rucksack at the weekend, its a Silva Type 2 compass I guess also from the 60's. It has a bubble in it but is just as accurate as my modern Silva's and Suunto's

Picked this up from the carboot on Saturday, as far as I can tell it dates from the 60's, needs a clean but apart from that its in cracking shape, also got a silva type 2 compass thrown in with it too, not bad for £5
